PlanShire ("we," "our," or "us") operates the PlanShire platform at planshire.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our event planning service.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), and location preferences (city/ZIP code). Your password is managed securely through AWS Cognito and is never stored in our database.
Information you provide about your events, including event details, guest lists, vendor selections, budget items, seating arrangements, timelines, and checklist items. This data is stored in our secure database and is only accessible to you and any collaborators you explicitly invite.
Photos, images, and other files you upload for event pages, scene decoration, invitations, and community posts. Images are processed to strip EXIF metadata for privacy protection before storage.
We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service, including pages visited, features used, and general usage patterns. This helps us improve the platform.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication with JWT verification, parameterized database queries to prevent injection attacks, CSRF protection, rate limiting on sensitive operations, and image validation with EXIF metadata stripping. While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is retained for 30 days (to allow recovery) before permanent removal. Event data shared with collaborators may persist in their event history. Anonymized, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytics.

pp_session (Essential) — Authentication session cookie. HTTP-only, secure, 24-hour expiration.pls_consent (Essential) — Stores your cookie preferences as JSON. 365-day expiry, same-site lax.pls_aid (Analytics) — Anonymous visitor identifier (UUID). 365-day expiry. Analytics data (page views, sessions) is retained for 90 days. Cookie consent records are retained as long as your account exists. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time. When you withdraw analytics consent, we immediately stop collecting analytics data and your anonymous visitor ID cookie (pls_aid) is removed. Previously collected data is retained for the 90-day retention period, then deleted.
PlanShire is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of PlanShire after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
